It was Fathers Day the other week month, (I’ve had this one written for a while…) or Daddy Day as my daughter calls it. We spent the weekend camping with friends which was fantastic! We all ventured into Tewkesbury for lunch at the Bell Hotel, which was very nice, my burger was a belter!!! But along with the Abbey which is very impressive, I was blown away by the how many quirky pubs the town had to offer! So while mummy shopped in the many charity shops I went looking for a Daddy Day pint!

I found the Cross House Tavern Micro Pub which is on Church Street, a stunning grade 2 listed Tudor style building dating back to the 16th century, the interior has been amazingly converted into a Victorian style pub and they serve real ales and cider straight out the cask. The pub has won Tewkesbury CAMRA pub of the year 2023/2024.
I ordered a pint of Ossett Breweries White Rat, a pale hoppy number, it was reasonably priced and served in a glass tankard which is always a win for me! I took it into the back room where I sat in front of the unlit fire and took in all the brewery memorabilia and bric-a-brac on the walls and shelves. I could have sat here all day trying the various beers they had on offer but, y’know…. places to be.

I thoroughly urge you to take a trip to Tewkesbury, it’s a few minutes detour off the M5 and is well worth it, even if you just pop to the Abbey and Cross House Tavern.
If you have been I’d love to hear your what you thought about the place.
Cheers and have a good one.
