Embrace the Struggle – Life isn’t supposed to be easy.

Life isn’t easy, that isn’t a moan it’s just a fact… All this new technology is supposed to make life easier, and I suppose it does to a point, but it also helps us get things done quicker, which means we have more time to do even more things, ultimately making life hard again, it’s a blummin vicious circle…

I’m always in search of a way of speeding things up and making tasks easier, simply to help me keep up with the demand on my time. But somewhere along the way I think I’ve started trying to engineer the struggle out of life altogether.

And I think that’s where I’ve gone wrong.

Mainly because it is an impossible task. Hard times will get you whether you like it or not, so I’ve learnt that the answer isn’t necessarily to spend your life trying to avoid the struggle, but to build the resilience to face it when it arrives.

“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one.” — Bruce Lee

It’s been a tough summer, I’ve been stressed out of my mind, I’ve barely had time to stop and think, this is no exaggeration. I wouldn’t choose to re-live this summer, but at the same time I wouldn’t change any of it. I’ve managed to navigate my way through to get this far, all that has happened has taught me something, something that I didn’t know at the start of the summer, and given me experience I didn’t have before. If I find myself here again, I’ll be better equipped to deal with the struggle that faces me!

So I’m trying to change how I view the hard times, because there will always be times of struggle, I just need to make sure I learn all I can from them so I can handle them when they show up in the future.

Absolutely make life easier where you can, but make yourself stronger where you can’t!
